ALFIE Bowtell is to make a National Development League return this season having agreed to join Kent.
Bowtell, who also races for Championship club Plymouth, is set to form a strong top two for the Iwade-based Royals as he links up again with his former Isle of Wight and Lakeside team-mate Ben Morley.
Kent promoter Si Kellow said: "We looked long and hard at the options before us to put together a team which has the right mix to ensure that our riders develop. In Alfie we see a rider who without a doubt can develop in himself, but also help to develop the reserve end of the team.
"In taking on the mantle of ensuring that there is league speedway in Kent, I have often mentioned the other teams who have been lost in the area.
"With our three signings so far, as well as finding riders who will ride their socks off for Kent, we also found riders who we hope can give the Lakeside, Eastbourne, Crayford and Canterbury fans of old a team they can get behind too "“ and they are all welcome to come along on a Sunday and call Iwade "˜Home' for 2022."
